The BCA partners with Schools that support careers in the culinary and hospitality industry. The targeted focus is to facilitate educational achievement among generally minority students through applied learning in a career prep environment. Students learn the industry perspectives while acquiring the skills and behaviors needed for a career in the business of hotels, lodging, and foodservice. The theme of the partnership will be “Real World Meets the School.” As students are exposed to the culinary and hospitality industry through site visits, internships, work shadowing, mentoring, along with workshops and guest lectures they will be empowered to connect what is happening within the school to the reality of real life. Students are often lacking the bridge of understanding between school and the industry - the partnership will help them experience school as an opportunity to achieve self-sufficiency and work ethic standards.
